There is a certain sweetness in rediscovering your once-favorite products after many years. I have been having those moments lately, you know.. The fragrance of my old favorites seems to be the thing I enjoy the most when I rediscover them. For they remind you of your younger self, and give a strange but sweet feeling. Does it happen to you? Makeup was not my fetish during teenage and younger twenties, but bath and body surely was. I remember myself looking for new stuff online and stocking up extra bath and body products.
I often use the dead sea mud from Sea of Spa, an Israeli local brand on the face and body, if I have the time for a leisurely shower. It really works and removes the impurities and black heads on the face, which is instantly visible.
I recently rediscovered a product I thought I had lost – Forrest Essentials Tejasvi ubtan. Forest Essentials is an Indian luxury Ayurveda brand, and their products smell nothing but amazing, including the Face Ubtan. It radiates the sandalwood and early smell, which to me reminds of the land I belong to, so much. It just gives a rare, comfortable, homely sense to me and I love it. Tejasvi Face ubtan is a cleansing powder which can be used with water, rose water or milk. I like to use it with water, not to ruin the natural amazing smell the has! I often end up using it as an everyday bathing item, as it doesn’t feel like a normal scrub on the skin. It is more of a powder with considerably big (but not scrubbing) particles. Thinking of this product as I write is kindling my smell senses!
One tiny product I’ve been loving to use as a bath gel is made by a men’s luxury company (am I crazy?). But I love this fragrance, guys. I accidentally got it without realizing, and now I am addicted 😉 This is is the Zegna by Ermenegildo Bath Gel. When it comes to bath essentials, the fragrance drives the liking for me, and this product is just the one to love. I think I will definitely repurchase it, who cares who it is made for ;)
Now the best for the last. My good old Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Refreshing Body Cream, which I use right after shower to moisturize the hands. Girl, this is one of the luxury products I totally think is worth spending on, for it’s fragrance. A rice-grain amount easily lasts for 6 hours, and you don’t even need a perfume. Dolce and Gabbana is the first ever perfume I bought, and this moisturizing cream gives me nostalgia and memories of my younger self, which is such a sweet feeling!
Little routines in the day are always dear to my heart. While a lot of people make morning routines, I suck at it, and I am not even a morning person. I’ve been trying to become one for a long time, but my work schedule doesn’t allow me to sleep early. Probably it is something I need to address and strictly build!!?
So, the thing is, I don’t have a morning routine. I do miss the sunrise (I probably last saw sunrise a couple of years ago 😀 ). Once I reach my workplace and start the day, there is hardly any time for even lunch (yes). I don’t see the sun until the next morning on the way to work. I know, not a thing to brag about. But hey, I discovered a little routine lately that lightens my heart, lessens the stress, and gives the real “me time of the day”! The Golden Hour and The Sunset time! How basic! But guys, I cannot begin to explain how important it has become to me. Continue reading
My skin is finally behaving, yay! Thanks to all the natural care and a routine I am trying to build, like this one.
While I am glad that my foundation-less routine made me skin so much better, it is nice to have your minimal glam days a few days in a week. A bit of touch up lifts the confidence for me. A minimalist routine is less time-consuming and easier managed. It is perfect for monkeys like me who are always running short of time 😉
By far the best I have used, my Bobbi Brown Even-wear Long Lasting Foundation is just perfect for those minimal days. Long lasting, natural looking, and comfortable to wear. What else do you need?
I am just not a morning person (trying to be one from ever since I know) and I am always in a hurry before leaving to work. Need I say that I won’t have time for a nice long tea time, followed by a thirty-minute makeup in the mornings? I mostly skip an eyeliner but I try to use a mascara to lift the otherwise-dull looking eyes. My recent find is this Clarins Wonder Perfect Mascara in travel size I got in a kit (I have talked about it here). It just gets the job done so well.
You are probably bored reading about the Armani Rouge Ecstasy 400, the only Armani lipstick I have 😀 I make full use of it, though. My underdone eyes are always complimented by this amazing, comfortable and stunning lipstick. It gives me a hell lot of confidence, boy. For some reason, this lipstick works for minimal just as good as it does for an evening date. A lip brush helps apply just the right amount for a minimal glam day. Read here about this lipstick and see swatches if interested!
From someone who googled “what is a bronzer” to someone whose makeup is not complete without a bronzer, I have realized that a bronzer can change the glam game. This Rimmel Natural bronzer is beyond perfect for a beginner. You cannot go wrong with the application (unless you really want to screw it up yourself 😀 ) and it instantly gives a dimension to the face. To top it with one of the best affordable highlighting strips, the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strip. Mine is Waikiki Strip (when will I go to Hawaii in my life??)
Oh, how can I not mention the most loved perfume of mine, Estee Lauder Sensuous? By the way, what do you wear for your minimalist days? Below!
